Can you believe we kick off a new decade in a few weeks?
Seems like yesterday we entered this new millennium. I think it's a great opportunity to not just come up with new year's resolutions but to develop a 2020 vision. Where do you want to be spiritually, physically, intellectually, relationally, financially and occupationally in ten years? What are the habits that will get you there? I have no idea what my life will be like in ten years, but here is what I know for sure. Our destiny is determined by daily decisions.
It's important to come up with goals. But it's the habits that will get you there. Honestly, I'm guessing all of us need to cultivate some of the same habits: reading the Bible, exercise, saving more than we spend, and reading just to name a few. So go ahead and set some goals. But make sure you focus on the God habits that will get you there!
One last thought. We tend to overestimate what we can accomplish in two years. But we underestimate what we can accomplish in ten years. Who knows what God could do in you and through you by 2020!

May2010 be an Eph 3:20 one for NCC! Just had a raspberry latte at Ebenezers and some prayer time praying over all that happens there. I even gave a short history lesson to a few patrons who asked what the name Ebenezer meant- and I from Omaha! Latte was supurb and your children's ministry intern was so friendly.I am one of those folks that will be blogging Primal and had to make a trip to Ebenezers. Chase the Lion and Goose and go Primal!

Mark,
I just received Primal in the mail. I'm excited to dig into it! Thanks!
Mark - you might link to your Jan 5, 2008 post or others that talk about goal setting. I know I'm starting to think about it as the end of the decade approaches!
